Ashton is a reader and she learned to read by being read to. When she was little she would pretend that she could read, she would sit down with a book and "read to herself." She believes that some people read simply because you have to, others read for enjoyment. Ashton thinks that for the people who enjoy it, it's almost like the reader becomes a part of the story and is transported there through the writing. She thinks that to be a good reader, you have to enjoy it and have an open mind. Reading is easy for Ashton because she enjoys it. Ashton chooses a book that cover attracts her, then she reads the summary and the last page. If she likes it, she gets it. Ashton loves to read and reads all the time at home. Ashton doesn't necessarily enjoy writing. She believes people write because it helps them get their thoughts and feelings out. To be a good writer, Ashton believes that you have to be passionate about writing and you have to enjoy it. If you don't enjoy what you're doing you wont' be very good at it. Ashton doesn't write very much at home.
